Purpose:

The purpose of the Men’s Auxiliary is to assist VFW Post 6274 with its mission of providing assistance to Veterans and their families. Work to support all VFW activities and events as well as having their own events and activities. They accomplish this through volunteer work and fundraising. The Auxiliary gives men, who would like to support this mission, the opportunity to get directly involved.

Eligibility:

The Men’s auxiliary is an extension of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States membership and specifically Post 6274. Over the years, many men who are related to Veterans have been denied the opportunity to assist the VFW directly since, they themselves, are not eligible. Recently, a decision was made to allow each VFW Post to form a Men’s auxiliary to extend the opportunity for male VFW family members and friends.

To be eligible for the Men’s Auxiliary and individual must meet one or more of the following requirements:

First, the applicant must have had a family member who served or currently serving overseas in the US Military in a war or conflict zone. Family members are defined as;

Husbands
Widowers
Fathers
Grandfathers
Sons
Grandsons
Brothers
Half Brothers
Foster and Step-dad (who have performed the duties of a parent)
Foster and Step-sons (who attain the status to the age of sixteen and for whom the duties of parent were performed)

How To Join:

To join the VFW Men’s Auxiliary of Post 6274, you will need information about your sponsoring Veterans showing proof of eligibility. The Veteran sponsor must have served in an overseas war or conflict combat environment. Usually all the proof necessary is Form “DD-214” that all Service Members have. If your related veteran is a member of Post 6274 you do not need to supply veteran records, we have them on file. These are sometime hard to find, especially if the Service Member is deceased. Because of that, if you think you are eligible, we invite you to contact the MAUX President and they will assist you in finding out. Any information you can provide will be helpful. You will then complete an application form, which you can obtain at our Post.

You can also download and print the Men’s Auxiliary Application Form.

If you have any questions please call the Post.

Meeting Dates:

The Men’s Auxiliary meets monthly on the Fourth Thursday of the month in the Post’s Hall at 7:00PM. The Hall is located at:

115 Mimosa Lane

Ballwin, MO. 63011
