The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is a nonprofit veterans’ service organization comprised of combat veterans and eligible military service members from the active, Guard and Reserve forces. Founded in 1899 and chartered by Congress in 1936, the VFW is the nation's largest organization of war veterans and its oldest major veterans’ organization. With nearly 1.9 million members located in almost 7,000 Posts worldwide, no one does more for veterans.

G.I. Breakfast - Last Sunday 8am-12 noon 
Get to know your community veterans! Greet patrons, take pictures, serve breakfast, help set up before breakfast and clean up after breakfast. Contact Roger Plack 314 406-7585.

Fish Fry - 2nd and 4th Friday 4-9pm (During Lent only)
We are always looking for kitchen help for Fish Frys and help setting up and cleaning up. These Fish Frys are a community staple and lines are out the door closer and closer to lent. Come up and join us! Contact Joe Sapeniza 636 634-5539.

Bingo (SMOKE FREE) - Wednesday evenings 4-10pm
We are fully permitted to host Bingo night every Wednesday at the Post. Volunteers can help serve food, take orders, help in the kitchen or clean up afterwards, however due to state law, volunteers are unable to help with the Bingo game itself. Contact Joe Sapeniza 636 634-5539.

Building/Maintenance Work
Just like anything else, our building takes constant care to maintain. Want to rake leaves, paint, plant flowers, or install new doors? Contact Rich Taylor 314 409-3987 any day after 10am.

General Post Clean Up 
The Post employees take great pride in making sure our Post is presentable and ready for our guests, but they could always use more help. Contact Tarra Henry 636 527-9555 any day after 10am.

*We are a certified non-for-profit and can provide a letter of volunteer hours upon request. 

​The VFW Post 6274 Honor Guard consists of a dedicated team of fellow Veterans and Auxiliary members who volunteer their time to perform memorial ritual services for our community free of charge. The Honor Guard also performs a three-volley rifle salute for military burials within the Missouri Military Funeral Honors Programs. This program is a cooperative effort between Post 6274, Jefferson Barracks and active components of the military. If you’re a member of the Post or Auxiliary and have considered joining then come by the Post on the second Monday of the month for the 7:00pm Honor Guard meeting. Uniforms are provided. Approximately 3 hours every other week.
